Employment by sector on East Grampian Coast and 
Scotland 2022

Key Findings

It was not possible to compare East Grampian employment by sector as between the three censuses in 2001, 2011 and 2022, the range of industries induced in the census has changed significantly. 

Compared to the Scottish average:

  • A significantly higher proportion of people in East Grampian were employed in the Mining and Quarrying sectors
  • A higher proportion of people in East Grampian were employed in the Professional Scientific and Technical Activities, and Administrative sectors. 
  • A lower proportion of people in East Grampian were employed in Finance and Insurance, and Construction

These figures have been taken from census records relating to selected coastal wards.
