Market Street Air Quality

Key Findings

This site is central and very busy site, located directly next to the Port of Aberdeen. Its readings are very similar to the nearby Union Street site, as is the declining trend. As of 2015 the NO2 levels (fig. 9) were within safe limits, followed by PM10 levels (fig. 10) which became safe in 2016. PM2.5 levels (fig. 11) were never recorded outwith safe limits, although measurements only began in 2015. PM10 saw a notably steep decrease between 2014 and 2016, reducing the average concentration by 14 µg m-3. (All data from Scottish Government, 2021).
