Coastal Rowing

Key Findings

Coastal rowing take place all around Scotland, with the densest activity around the Moray Firth and the Firth of Forth (fig. 1).

Scottish Coastal Rowing Association (SCRA), formed in 2010, now has over 70 member clubs. Along the East Grampian Coast there is Collieston Offshore Rowing Club, Catterline Coastal Rowing Club, and Gourdon Coastal Rowing Club - this increased activity around the areas associated with these clubs is reflected in fig. 2.

Coastal rowing typically takes place between April to October, when tides and weather allow.
